  • The unu Scooter offers best-in-class storage space, portable batteries that can be charged at home or the office and does not cost more than a petrol equivalent.
  • It is the first time that unu exhibits its second product generation outside the core markets Germany, Austria and France, as the company prepares to expand its footprint to the Benelux states and further European countries in 2022.

Milan, November 21st 2021

Over 12 million petrol-powered 50cc scooters are currently on the streets of Europe*, and they are emitting up to ten times more CO-emissions and three times more NOx emissions than petrol cars**. unu has made it its mission to change this by producing electric-powered scooters that offer a real alternative to cars and gasoline scooters thanks to their high level of usability.
The second generation of the unu Scooter was designed by unu and developed in cooperation with partners such as BOSCH and LG in Germany. The new scooter offers space for two people, as well as the largest storage space and one of the fastest acceleration values in the electric scooter segment. It is powered by a BOSCH electric motor and can be driven with a regular driver’s license. With its portable batteries which can be charged at regular power outlets, the scooter has a range of up to 100 km. The motor is integrated into the scooter’s rear wheel, resulting in ample net storage space (33,4 l) underneath the seat, for example for two helmets and more. Instead of a key, the scooter can be unlocked with a keycard.
With its own app and integrated display, the scooter can be continuously developed further along with its own firmware via over-the-air updates. The first version of the app focuses on giving insight into the scooter and its batteries and can already be activated optionally by iOS users. An Android version, as well as further smart features, will follow step by step.
The scooter can be ordered online (unumotors.com) in two models (Standard 3 kW, Plus 4 kW) and five colors (Glossy Blue, Glossy Red, Matte Pine, Matte Stone, Matte Black), starting from 3.299€ up to 3.999€. Customers receive the unu Scooter ready to ride straight to their doorstep. “Our new unu Scooter is a revolution for the market thanks to its unique smart features and technology, best-in-class usability and driving behaviour and its unmatched D2C price-performance”, says Pascal Blum (co-founder and CEO unu).

About unu

unu is the market leader in the German-speaking e-scooter sector and was founded in 2013 by Pascal Blum, Mathieu Caudal and Elias Atahi. The idea was born during their studies in Beijing, where the limited mobility in a big city was particularly noticeable. Within ten months, unu launched its first product generation: The unu Scooter Classic, which has enabled the company to expand abroad since 2015. Today, the young company is working on various solutions for urban mobility. When unu started delivering their second product generation in 2021, they reached their next milestone: the new unu Scooter.
