battery e-scooter for unu pro

How can I charge the battery of my electric scooter?

Electric scooters are cool, and the future lies in sustainable mobility. The only hurdle in switching to electric is, as it seems is, a "charging infrastructure". But we at unu, can assure you that charging an electric scooter can be a piece of cake! Find out here; how and where you can charge your unu scooter, electric car, or any other EV in the smartest way.

More and more e-mobility on German roads

First, the good news: more and more people are switching to e-mobility in the interest of climate protection. The number of registered electric cars on 1 October 2021 was around 517,000. As per the definition, plug-in hybrid cars also fall under this category, and E-cars stand at the number 494,000 as of 1 October 2021.
Scooter enthusiasts are increasingly opting for electric scooters instead of petrol-powered mopeds. The advantages are obvious: if you ride an e-scooter, you move not only sustainably but also almost noiselessly. Getting past all the traffic jams and hunting for a parking space is no longer a problem. "Charging stations" are still the elephant in the room for e-mobility. Are there enough charging stations? Do I need charging cards? How can I charge my EV easily?  Here we'll give you a brief overview of how electric vehicle charging can be easy. Be there till the end as we share useful news from unu's electric scooters in that sense!

E-Mobility charging stations: what are the available options?

Let's start with electric cars: Of course, you can charge your electric car at home, but there are a few prerequisites. For example, a household socket is not designed for such a continuous load. An electric car must be charged for up to 17 hours before it is fully charged. This can lead to overheating or, even worse - a cable fire!  An alternative would be a so-called "Wallbox", a solution for those with their own parking space.
But maybe you, like many other drivers, rely on e-mobility charging stations on the road. In most cities, there are public charging stations either on the side of the road or in car parks. According to the Federal Network Agency, 40,257 normal charging points and 6,840 fast-charging points have been registered in Germany(as of 09/2021), and the cheery on top is that the electric vehicle (EV) trend is rising (which is an important step towards climate protection).
Many users of EVs use a charging card that is RFID operated. The owner is detected by the charging station via RFID, and then the charging process starts. The RFID detection and hence the card usage isn’t free and does include some costs.
There are various charging options for electric scooters. If the battery is non-removable, then charging at a charging station is necessary. However, advanced e-scooter models such as unu, with removable batteries, are extremely convenient for charging.
