The unu Scooter Classic now on the streets of Vienna and Graz
Berlin start-up unu expands to Austrian cities
Berlin, June 2015.
The German provider of urban mobility solutions has now started selling in Austria. As of now those interested in the cool electric scooter made by unu can order online for delivery to Vienna, Salzburg, Graz, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt and Linz. In Vienna there is already an unu Pioneer on hand to offer test drives and in the coming weeks this possibility will also be on offer in the other five cities. From mid-June the unu will be officially on sale in Austria’s major cities.
The unu goal: connecting people with their city
unu is a young Berlin-based company developing mobility solutions for the urban environment. The two founders, Elias Atahi und Pascal Blum, want to make moving around the city simpler, reasonably priced and therefore more attractive. “We firmly believe that everyone should have the possibility of experiencing their city to the fullest. We have set ourselves the task of delivering a mobility solution that connects people intimately with the urban environment,” says Atahi. The founders have both been fascinated by metropolitan life and mobility since their time in Asia where separately they experienced the vibrancy of Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai. It inspired them after completing their degrees in the megacities to realize a dream they found that they shared – to be part of shaping the best possible sustainable urban experience.
The unu electric scooter advances across Europe
The founders of unu started developing their electric scooter in 2013 and online sales commenced in 2014. In the first months of that year several hundred unu scooters had been sold. Now the plan is to establish a presence in other European metropolitan centres, starting with the six biggest cities in Austria. Deliveries are to be made to customers within a 15 kilometre radius of each location in order to provide an optimal level of service. “We’re concentrating on urban regions on a global basis,” says co founder Pascal Blum. “Every day we are working an expansion of our list of cities in Austria.”
